Hunt-sequence play kit

Let your cat finish the hunt.

A feather wand and a mouse-shaped treat puzzle, built around the full predatory sequence: stalk, chase, pounce, catch, eat. Made for cats who never leave the apartment.

The problem

Indoor cats hunt nothing all day.

Apartment cats get food in a bowl and a window with no birds in it. The hunt they're wired for — stalk, chase, pounce, catch — never happens.

  • Toys get batted once, then ignored within a week.
  • A 2-minute laser chase with no catch at the end leaves cats wound up, not satisfied.
  • Feeding guidelines call for cats to work for food — most bowls give them nothing to work for.

How it works

One session, one full hunt.

01

Stalk & chase

The feather wand moves low, erratic, prey-like — your cat stalks and chases it across the room.

02

Pounce & catch

You let the wand get caught. A real catch, every session — not an endless tease.

03

Eat

The catch leads straight to the mouse puzzle: a few worked-for treats close the sequence.

What's in the kit

Built for the whole sequence, not just one toy.

Feather wand

Erratic, bird-like motion for a real stalk-and-chase, not a straight drag.

Mouse treat puzzle

A mouse-shaped dispenser that makes the "catch" end in a worked-for treat.

Growing difficulty

Three puzzle settings so treats get harder to extract as your cat improves.

A session that ends

Designed to close on a catch and a treat, not stop mid-chase.

Apartment-sized

No floor space needed — the whole sequence fits in one room.

Washable & refillable

Wand feathers and puzzle tray both wash; treat tray refills with any small kibble.

Why it works

Grounded in feline behaviour research.

JFMS, 2016

Food puzzles let cats work for food the way they would forage in the wild, which the authors tie to better physical and emotional wellbeing in indoor cats.

Play and predatory behaviour is one of five pillars of a healthy feline environment — caregivers are asked to let cats express it daily.

A cat's hunt is a full cycle — stalk, chase, pounce, catch, eat — and enrichment works best when it lets that cycle complete.

Who it's for

Three apartments, three cats.

The one-window studio

One indoor cat, no yard, no bird feeder to watch. Ten minutes with Prowl replaces the hunt the window can't give.

The night-zoomer

A cat who sprints the hallway at 2am. A real catch-and-eat session before bed gives that energy somewhere to go.

The bored multi-cat home

Two cats, one toy basket nobody touches. Rotating wand play keeps both engaged without new gadgets every month.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is Prowl a medical or anti-anxiety product?

No. Prowl is a play and enrichment kit. It isn't a treatment for obesity, anxiety or any medical condition, and it doesn't replace veterinary care.

Will this stop my cat's destructive behaviour?

We can't promise that. Giving cats a daily outlet for predatory behaviour is linked to better wellbeing in feline behaviour guidelines, but individual results vary.

How long does a session take?

Most full hunt sequences — stalk through eat — run 5 to 15 minutes, depending on your cat's energy and the puzzle's difficulty setting.

Is it safe to leave the puzzle out unsupervised?

The treat puzzle is safe unattended; the feather wand, like any wand toy, is meant for supervised play only.

What treats or food go in the puzzle?

Any small dry kibble or cat treat that fits the tray. We'll publish exact fill guidance before launch.

What happens to my email if I join the waitlist?

We use it only to email you about Prowl's launch. No selling or sharing your data, and one click unsubscribes you anytime.
